• We are living during a time when the gains in recognition, access, and equity that we have fought for over decades are being met with. Unrelenting effort to roll them back.
• These efforts continue to especially targeted people of colour, trans and gender diverse people, immigrants and women and the resulting harm is even greater for community.

There are many ways to get involved as volunteer at Peacock Foundatiion throughout the world. And our volunteer role vary according to event conducted or workshop under gone. Whether you are interested in reviewing applications or join ad regional volunteer action committee.

Equity is at the core of who we are. Peacock Foundatiion work is motivated by the fundamental belief that the humanity of every single person deserves to be recognized, protected and valued. Our commitment to equity is at the cone of this belief. For us, equity is about creating a place where we all belong, where we all can be ourselves, and where we all have opportunities to thrive.

Equity is not only critical to our work-fundamentally, achieving it is our work.

Since, 2013 Peacock Foundatiion has continually evolved our approach, strategy and practices as the landscapes of our country and our movement have changed. This current undertaking is an important part of that evolution.

It will take though full concerted and international effort as well as an increase in resources to dismantle the deep roots of racism and supremacy in our country. And Peacock Foundatiion committed to doing this work.

The LGBTIQ movement has made significant progress while with standing profound. And persistent, backlash even so the issues most impacting the lives of people of colour within our community have not been consistently prioritized.

While all LGBTIQ people are confronted with discrimination, LGBTIQ face systemic and structural racism. That creates significant barriers to opportunities and resource throughout their lives. The impact of this barrier, coupled with the on-going underinvestment to address them is apparent in the data that shows significant disparities for LGBTIQ people across a wide array of social issues. Here is just a snapshot of these disparities.

• LGBTIQ youth make up 7% of the general population, but over 40% of youth. Experiencing humbleness of that 40%
• Due to poverty lack of access to health care and other factors, men of colour who have sex with men (MSM) are disproportionately impact by HIV.
• Only 11% of total foundation funding for LGBTIQ issues went to communities of colour, despite the fact that 39% of LGBTIQ still facing financial problem.
